COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) Sahiwal is hosting 3-Days Workshop which is being arranged buy Center for Policy Studies (CPS), CIIT Islamabad in collaboration with Hanns Seidal Foundation, Pakistan.

The opening ceremony was held on August 08, 2017 in CS Bock, CIIT Sahiwal which was attended by Head of Departments, Representatives of NGO sector, Chamber of Commerce, Media, Educationists and Civil Society.

Mr. Qadeer Ahmad Bajwa, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sahiwal was the Chief Guest. He share his thankfulness to the Director CIIT Sahiwal for inviting him as Chief Guest. While talking to the participants, he shared his experience about COMSATS which has secured place in top level higher educational institutions in Pakistan in very short time. He appreciated the efforts of management of COMSATS Sahiwal and sponsoring organization for arranging this workshop on very useful topic.

Prof. Dr. Saleem Farooq Shaukat, Director shared opening remarks. He extended his gratitude to the Chief Guest, Organizors, Sponsor and participants of this workshop. He shared that COMSATS Sahiwal is regularly arranging such training programs to provide useful information about burning issues. He briefed that COMSATS Sahiwal has recently established e-Rozgaar Center in collaboration with Punjab Information Technology Board, which will help providing entrepreneurship opportunities to out youth.

Former Ambassador Ms. Fauzia Nasrin, Head CPS also addressed to the participants. She briefed about the importance and structure of this worshop. She extended his gratitude to Prof. Dr. Saleem Farooq Shaukat for his generosity.

The inaugural ceremony was concluded with Group Photo and refreshment.

August 10, 2017 - The closing ceremony of 03-days workshop on Public Sector of Pakistan: Social Equity Imperatives and Governance Dynamics was held. Sardar Asad Ali Khan Baloch (Mayor Sahiwal) was the Chief Guest. In his address, he congratulated the organizers and the participants on conducting a successful workshop; he also briefed the audience on Operational Mechanism of Governing Social Equity in Sahiwal District. The Director in his address thanked the Chief Guest, and the organizers for holding a successful workshop. Ms. Fauzia Nasreen, Former Ambassador presented the Chief Guest Sardar Asad Ali Khan Baloch with a souvenir.

The Director, CIIT Sahiwal was accompanying her. Mr. Omer Ali, National Program Coordinator, Hanns Seidel Foundation, Pakistan addressed the participants and briefed them about the Hanns Seidel Foundation, Pakistan, which is collaborating with a number of universities in Pakistan and COMSATS is one of those universities. Syeda Mehak Jamal, Senior Program Manager and Mr. Ahmad Islam Syan, Manager (Strategy & Implementation), PITB Lahore was among the Resource persons who shared detailed presentation about e-Rozgaar Center at COMSATS Sahiwal (an initiative of PITB under CM Punjab’s e-Rozgaar Center).

They participated in interactive talk arranged in e-Rozgaar Center. The director distributed the gift bags to all the guests of honor. Before concluding the session, the Chief Guest, Sardar Asad Ali Khan Baloch, Mayor Sahiwal; Prof. Dr. Saleem Farooq Shaukat, Ms. Fauzia Nasreen, Former Ambassador; and Mr. Omer Ali, National Program Coordinator distributed the Certificates of Participation among the participants of this workshop. The ceremony ended with National Anthem and then group photo followed by a visit to newly established e-Rozgaar center at CIIT Sahiwal campus. At the end, all participants were offered a delicious lunch.
