CIIT-Research Productivity Award (RPA) ceremony was held at COMSATS Institute of
Information Technology (CIIT), Sahiwal Campus. Prof. Dr. S. M. Junaid Zaidi (S.I,
H.I), Rector, CIIT was the chief guest. Media officials, Directors of different
campuses of CIIT including Abbottabad, Lahore, Attok and Wah, Registrar, Principal
Officers from CIIT Principal Seat, Islamabad, Head of departments, researchers,
large number of faculty and staff member of CIIT Sahiwal were also present in the
event.
To encourage its faculty and promote quality research, CIIT-Research Productivity
Award (RPA) is an annual feature of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology
(CIIT). All Faculty/ Staff and Students who publish their research papers in Impact
factor and ISI indexed journals, are awarded a certificate & cash prize.
The said event was organized by Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization
(ORIC) under, CIIT Principal Seat, Islamabad. The objective of said event was to
encourage, motivate and reward the researchers and scientists.
During inaugural speech, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, Director CIIT Sahiwal campus presented
report about research publications by faculty members of CIIT Sahiwal Campus. He
shared that during last year, forty (40) faculty members published one hundred ten
(110) research papers in Impact factor journals with total Impact Factor 344.011
which is remarkable achievement at campus level. He further shared that during current
year, eighty two (82) research papers have already been published and forty five
(45) papers are in publication process. Moreover, two (02) research projects are
ongoing whereas, more than eighty two (82) research projects have been submitted
to HEC and other donor agencies for funding.
While addressing to the audience, Prof. Dr. S.M. Junaid Zaidi, Rector CIIT shared
recent ranking of international universities. He congratulated all Pakistanis in
general and CIIT family in particular about COMSATS for being No.1 Pakistani University
in International universities ranking released by Time Higher Education. He appreciated
the efforts of every contributor including Drivers, Naib Qasids, Sweepers, Mali,
staff members, faculty membes, officers and other stakeholders due to which, CIIT
has been emerged as No.1 Pakistani University in short time of nineteen years.
The chief guest awarded certificates and cash award to all researchers. The ceremony
ended with refreshment of all the participants.
