COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) Sahiwal is organizing All Pakistan
DICE-IET Innovation Event 2016 on October 31 to November 1, 2016 at CIIT Sahiwal.
The opening ceremony was held in beautiful Pandal surrounded by lush green sports
ground. This session was attended by more than 400 researchers, presenters, guest
speakers, academicians, industrialists, Government officials, dignitaries, civil
society, media representatives and students of FYP from different educational institutions.
Prof. Dr. Saleem Farooq, Head Academics & Research, CIIT Lahore and Dr. Zahiruddin
Shaikh, Acting Director CIITS Sahiwal, Head of Departments, large number of faculty
members were also present in the session.
Prof. Dr. Shahid A. Khan, Dean Sciences, CIIT, PS, Islamabad was the Chief Guest
whereas, Dr. Waqar Mehmood, Director KICS, UET Lahore was the Keynote Speaker.
Prof. Dr. Nazir A. Zafar, Chief Organizer and Mr. Mujahid Khan, Chairperson, DICE-IET
shared their views during their inaugural statements.
The Chief Guest along with delegation visited research projects of Final Year Students.
He appreciated efforts made by the participants. The winners will be announced after
conclusion of all activities.
The day was ended with papers presentation at CIIT Sahiwal and social evening with
renowned poets in Usmania Restaurant.
During 2nd day, more than 20 research papers will be presented whereas; more than
635 research projects will be exhibited. Top three projects will be awarded prize
money of Rs.200,000.
DICE Foundation USA is the Co Host whereas, COMSATS, Higher Education Commission
(HEC), National Testing Services (NTS), Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), Pakistan
Council for Science & Technology (PCST), and DICE are sponsors of this international
event. The event is one of the major initiatives of CIIT and DICE Foundation. The
idea behind this event is to motivate academia, industry, government, entrepreneurs
and expatriates to come to a common platform to showcase innovations and technologies,
share knowledge and further collaborate with each other for the rapid development
of innovative products which are necessary for the economic development of the country.
